As the war in Ukraine rages ontesourojogo, Russia says it has taken over Sudzha, the biggest town in the Kursk region. Kursk region was overrun by Ukrainian forces in August 2024, which marked the first major invasion by Kyiv.
This announcement from Russia not only follows Putin's orders to remove Ukrainian troops from the region but also as a US delegation makes way to Moscow to discuss the ceasefire proposal.

"In the course of the offensive operations, units of the North military group liberated the settlements of Melovoy,ijogo slots Podol and Sudzha,” the Russian defense ministry said on Thursday.
As per US-based conflict monitorInstitute for the Study of War (ISW), footage from the ground also indicated that Russian forces had seized the town and have now advanced towards southern Zaoleshenka, a settlement just northwest of Sudzha.
Russia's recapture of Sudzha was one of the only populated towns still held by Ukrainian forces.

"President (Vladimir Putin) said that this needs to be done as quickly as possible. (It will take) as much time as is necessary to save the maximum number of lives of our military and civilians. But there is no doubt that the Kursk region will be liberated fairly soon,” Peskov told reporters after Putin called on Russian troops to push out the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This development comes after President Trump warned Putin of more sanctions if Russia did not agree to the ceasefire proposal.
After Ukraine agreed to the 30-day agreementtesourojogo, US special envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Moscow to commence the truce talks with the Russian side.
